Dream Analysis: Don’t let the police tow away your Winnebago

Andrew:  Last night I dreamed that I was driving a car through the rain.  The car wasn’t handling very well and kept sliding.   When the traffic light turned red I tried to stop, but the car skidded into the intersection right in front of the police.  I was worried that I would get a ticket, but the police didn’t seem to notice.  I decided what I needed to drive something new, so I bought a motor home.  I planned to use for a cross country vacation.  I parked it in front of my house and planned to leave the next morning when it stopped raining.  Later, when I went to find it, the motor home was gone.  It had been towed away by the police.  I was at first upset, then irritated and afraid that this would prevent me from leaving, but I was able to retrieve it from impound without a problem.  As I was climbing into the motor home, I saw a woman and her daughter, who was crying, sitting on the curb.  The woman told me that her husband abused her and would sometimes stuff a sock in her daughter’s mouth to keep her quiet.  I invited them to join me and, we drove out of town.

Eric: There is a great deal of worry about the police in your dream.  In dreams, the police often represent someone in authority. Motor homes, many times, symbolizes our need to move on in some aspect of life.  You changed from a car that was giving you trouble to a larger vehicle.  You seem to want to move on to bigger and better things, but you are afraid that an authority figure may hold you back.  This worry that you are being held back is also present when you see the stop light and when the motor home, your chance to move on, is towed away.  In both cases, what worried you turned out to not be as bad as you feared.  Ultimately, you are able to drive away in your motor home saving the abused woman, often a representing a feeling that you are being taken advantage of in your waking life, and her daughter who is often gagged so her voice cannot be heard.  To resolve your dream, realize that you have the ability to move on from what is holding you back.  Despite feeling cheated and ignored, moving on is easier than you think it is.

Consulting the Tarot, I pulled the Strength card, along with the Page of Swords and the Ten of Pentacles. This is a very good sign.  The Strength card is fairly obvious.  It reminds you to draw upon your inner strength; doing so will help you overcome any obstacle. The Page of Swords tells me you have more than your share of energy, passion and enthusiasm.  You can’t wait to get started with the next stage of your development.  It is also the card of new ideas and sharing those ideas with others.  The Ten of Pentacles is a sign that you have reached a point of completion in your journey and you are ready for your reward.  The Ten of Pentacles often appears when you are about to start a new career path.  Gather your strength, share your ideas and get ready to receive what you deserve.

Andrew: That’s very interesting. I have been very frustrated with my work lately. I work at a small company, and  I am friends with the owner. Lately I feel like owner doesn’t realize the long hours I put in or the sacrifices I make. I also feel like I have gone as far as I can go, and I am ready to work for a larger company.  I scheduled an interview for next week, but I’m a little afraid of how much it would hurt the owner’s feelings if he found out. I really want this new job, but I feel guilty.  Thank you for the advice and the Tarot reading.  It really helps.
